Challenging the Field Sobriety Test
As an experienced DUI defense lawyer, a former Wheaton police officer and former DUI enforcement instructor, I have comprehensive understanding of field sobriety tests. I understand the methods by which field sobriety tests are administered and their reliability in court.
The typical field sobriety test will consist of a number of roadside tests, such as:
- Walk and turn
- Walk the line
- Finger to nose
- One leg balance
- Other tests to determine impairment
I use my experience to aggressively attack field sobriety due process. I challenge the officer's training and experience administering field sobriety tests, the conditions in which the test was administered (raining, late at night, gravel, uneven pavement) and the evidence obtained from such tests.
